Kipeto Wind Farm Financial Close
The 100 MW Kipeto Wind Farm project in Kajiado, Kenya has reached financial close.
London based company Actis, which now holds an 88% stake in the scheme, confirmed the news. The wind farm will be selling its output under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Kenya Power and Lighting (KPLC), signed in 2016. Once operational, the wind farm will consist of 60 GE 1.7-103 model wind turbines. The wind farm will connect to Isinya substation in Kajiado county via a 17km transmission line.
Galetech supported the owners of the project since 2011 with development, planning, environmental, project management, technical and owners engineering advice through to financial close.
