Galetech Energy Services is a specialist renewable energy consultancy, based in Cavan and Cork, that provides planning, environmental, advisory support and other technical services to our clients on a wide range of wind and solar energy projects. Together with our sister companies, EnergyPro and Optienergy, we provide complete nationwide expertise and bespoke services across all our platforms, offering real added value to our client’s projects.

An opportunity has arisen for a Planner to join our team to meet the increasing demand for the company’s planning and environmental services. The position will involve working as part of our Planning Team on the project management and preparation of planning applications and environmental assessments on a variety of wind, solar and related projects, together with policy research, advisory support, due diligence, compliance management, judicial reviews and feasibility studies.

Applicants should hold a recognised (IPI or RTPI) planning qualification and have at least two years’ professional experience, be highly self-motivated, organised and have the ability to deliver projects to deadlines with meticulous attention to detail, while also being able to manage a varied and full workload.

Good communication and report writing skills and a sound knowledge of planning law, policy and practice in Ireland are essential. Familiarity with the renewable energy sector and knowledge of GIS or other design software packages would be an advantage. The successful candidate will work in a busy, but supportive and flexible team environment, and have the opportunity to further develop their career and skillsets working on challenging and complex projects in a dynamic and rapidly growing sector.
